Ollie M. Wigington

Ollie Wigington, age 84, a resident of the Golden West Community in Rio Rancho since 2009, died Sunday, July 9, 2023. She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Gandt of Hampton, New Hampshire and Diné Campbell and husband, Philip of Bayfield, CO; grandchildren Owen Gandt, Reese Gandt, Cailin Campbell; brother Mark Williams of Texas; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Wigington was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald, and her three siblings Robert Williams, George Williams Jr., and Mary Heloise House.

Ollie was a devout protestant and long-standing member of the Assemblies of God, most recently attending Grace Outreach Center. Her Christian beliefs were her foundation and she shared them with many through her life. Ollie and Don spent time on the Navajo Reservation as teachers and missionaries during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Following this time, Ollie was an educator, directing her own daycare and preschool and teaching in various public-school systems into the late 1980’s. She ended her career working for the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority as an Access Coordinator for the elderly population of Littleton, Colorado.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Outreach Center, 2900 Southern Blvd SE, on Thursday, July 20, 2023, 3:00pm. All are welcome. Interment of ashes will be in West Texas, where she will join her husband in the family plot at a later date.
