On Wednesday, August 19th, Orlando Chavez Castillo (“Brown Boy”) passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family he loved and protected. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and son, Mark.
Orlando’s life was dedicated to his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His children describe him as the hardest working and strongest man they knew. The family felt his strength in his unconditional love and knew he would always be there for them.
He was a man of faith, with a patient heart and quick wit. People gravitated to him because they felt his joy and wanted to be a part of his laughter. There are those that knew him as a miner, others as a coach, and still others as a Green Bay Packer fan; but everyone knew him as a friend who was willing to lend his ear, his hand, or his heart.
Orlando is survived by his children, Kathy, Matt, Luke, and Paul, as well as extended family and friends, too abundant to name.
The world will be a sadder place without him.
Bueno pues, Lando. One day we will all dance again.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
