Oscar Lee Donham, Jr.

On December 30, 2010 we lost one of the greatest dancers ever Oscar L. Donham Jr. Oscar was born September 26, 1926 to Oscar L Donham Sr. and Jewell. He was one of seven children who loved to dance and was quite good at wood carving. Oscar served his country with honor in 1945 , 1946 and 1947. He was married to his special love Margie for 50 years who preceded him in death in 2000. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, four sisters, son Gregory Lee and grandson John Edward Gardenhire, Jr. Oscar is survived by his children Cheri Vaden, Donna Gardenhire and husband John, Hugh R. “Rusty” Donham and wife Sondra, and Lisa Ann Douglas and husband Don, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and special friend and dancing partner Josie Hinson. Services for Oscar will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 West Arrington, Farmington at 2:00pm with his son Rusty Donham officiating.
