It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband and brother, Ostacio Lucero, 85, longtime resident of Rio Rancho and Corrales. Born October 9, 1938, in Cabezon, NM, he was the beloved son of the late Clemente and Sara Lucero. Ostacio was preceded in death by his siblings, Eizardo Gonzales, Arneldo, Benny, Albert, Rosalie, Katalina (Kathryn), and Frances. Ostacio was also a loving father to his late son, Steven Andrew Lucero. Ostacio is survived by his dedicated wife of 60 years, Rosalie (Rose) Lucero and loving son, Robert Clemente Lucero of Rio Rancho, NM, and sister, Marcella Lucero Garcia of Albuquerque, NM. Ostacio is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
When Ostacio’s father passed away, he took over the responsibility of working the ranch for his mother. He then inherited the ranch in 1973 and strived to keep it in the family, with the ranch still in the Lucero family today.
The family would like to add, “We know my dad is not hurting anymore, and that he is with the dear Lord and Blessed Mother. Ostacio is now running up the hills in heaven with his niece Gloria DeAngelo, as they ran together growing up at the ranch.”
Ostacio was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Alameda.
