Oswald Orona, 75, of Alamogordo, NM, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013. Oswald was born January 10, 1938 in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Oswald was a very passionate skilled man with vast knowledge of many trades, including; landscaping, gardening and farming. Oswald worked as a service manager at Holloman Air Force Base for 15 years and was a small business owner of Orona�s Landscaping in Alamogordo for 10 years prior to moving to Veguita to support his brother Willie with farming. He later retired and moved back to Alamogordo. Throughout his life, Oswald took pride in his handy work, cooking and gardening. He could usually be found working on some small project, tending to one of his gardens and staying abreast of current events. Oswald never hesitated to share his political view or his thoughts and opinions on a current event. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother and friend to all. Oswald is survived by his wife Ruth Navarro-Orona; his 3 sons, Richard Orona and wife Marlene of San Antonio, TX, Daniel Orona of Dallas, TX, Peter Orona and partner Tom of Austin, TX; his 2 daughters, Sandra Rice and husband Chris of Chandler, AZ, and Angela Hernandez and husband Matthew of Los Lunas, NM; 2 brothers William Orona, and Valentine (Mary Jane) Orona; 3 sisters, Lillian Romero, Patricia (Ralph) Montes, and Dorothy (John) Godley, 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, former wife Frances Sandoval and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; Juan and Modesta Orona. Our dad was many different things to each of us. We will always remember how he shared his love, strength, keen wit and humor with those around him. We loved him dearly and were able to be by his side during the last weeks of his life. He passed away peacefully knowing he was, and always will be, loved by many. The memories of our dad will always be cherished. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:30 am at Daniels Family Funeral Services Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A gathering will be held at El Rancho de Valencia Restaurant immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Oswald�s honor to the American Heart Association, P. O.
