Patricia Ann (Copeland) Kennedy

December 7, 1938 to April 19, 2025

Pat was born December 7, 1938 in Abilene, Texas to Arthur Lee and Verna Copeland. She had one older sister, Norma Jeanette. The family moved around Texas a number of times before settling in Midland where Pat graduated from Midland High School in 1957.

Pat worked for Texas Electric for a few years before becoming a stewardess with Continental Airlines in 1961, a job she looked back on fondly to the end of her life. Married in 1963, she lived in Germany, where her daughter was born, and then Albuquerque until her divorce a few years later. Pat then returned to Midland to raise her daughter and would choose to make the city her home for the remainder of her life. She worked at the airport and for law offices before returning to Texas Electric where she retired after almost 25 years. Pat shared her artistic side with a talent for gift wrap at Dunlap’s over many years.

In retirement, Pat remained active for a number of years volunteering at the airport information desk -- awarded Star Volunteer of the year in 2002-2003 -- and then with Texas Border Watch. In her later years, she developed a love of cats and offered a haven for a number of neighborhood strays, working with Midland Cat Wranglers. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in her memory to this organization.

Pat passed away after several years of battling Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and is survived by her daughter, Leslie. She will be interred with her parents and sister in Midland County Fairview Cemetery. No services will be held.
