Patricia Ann Flynt Coulter died October 03, 2023, peacefully with her family in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. "Patty" was born to Ruth Lillian Maki and Joe H. Flynt in Eunice, New Mexico November 6, 1947. She passed away from brain cancer at the age of 75.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Craig Coulter, parents Joe and Ruth Flynt, maternal grandparents Alma and George Maki, and paternal grandparents Leila and Holbert Flynt.
Patty and Craig were high school and college sweethearts. They were the parents of three children, 8 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren including: Daughter, Sara Johnson (and Mark), daughters Morgan and Ashly Johnson, daughter, Kimberly Kochevar (and John) children Sophia and Milo; son, James Mathew Coulter, children Christian, Seth, Emalee, and Troy.
Patter was a Special Education teacher and Educational Diagnostician for 32 years. Patty taught in Hobbs, T or C, Eunice, Carrizozo, and Silver City. She had a passion for teaching children to read. Most of her volunteer time included: El Paso District Camp Counselor and Co-Dean for the Methodist Church, Band Parent's President, Class Sponsor, Parents Reaching Out (PRO) and Special Olympics. Patty was active in National Education Association as a building representative, Vice President, and State Delegate. Patty was an active member of the United Methodist Women and held many officer positions in her 35 years of service.
Patty leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and wonderful sister Beth Hightower, her favorite brother-in-law Gary, and numerous loving and generous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Central United Methodist Church @10:00am.
