HERNDON-Patricia Lee (nee Worster) Herndon, beloved wife and helpmate, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2010, following a 20-year battle with Parkinson‘s Disease. We will miss her, but we find joy in knowing that she is delivered out of earthly bondage and into a new and perfect life with Christ. Patricia was born in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey on November 17, 1929 to Merle C. and Mary Frances (nee McKinney) Worster, and grew up in Manasquan, NJ. She met the love of her life, Kenneth Lee Herndon, at a dance in September 1949 and they were married on December 11th that same year. They lived all over the world during Ken’s Air Force career, and had four daughters: Mary Bailey of Columbus OH, Barbara Wilcox of Corpus Christi TX, Melanie Christenson of San Antonio TX, and Holly Huddle of Albuquerque NM. Patti and Ken moved to Albuquerque in 1975. Patricia loved music and dancing, miniatures and dolls, gardening, and reading. She was active in her church as a Daughter of the King and the Society of Mary. She and Ken attended Bible Studies and Foyer Groups and participated in many programs at the church. Patricia is survived by her husband Ken; her daughters Mary, Barbara, Melanie, and Holly and her husband Gary; six grandchildren: Megan, Erin, Mandy, Kelli, Ben, and Patsi; seven great-grandchildren; her sister Barbara; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Eucharist celebrating her life will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 1500 Chelwood Park Blvd, NE, Albuquerque NM 87112, on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., with a reception immediately after. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Discretionary Fund in her name. Those who wish to send condolences may do so at www.danielsfuneral.com.
