Patricia A. Seipel

SEIPEL - Patricia A. Seipel, 71, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 10 1938 to John and Fay Gillespie. She died in Rio Rancho, New Mexico on May 27, 2009 after a long series of health problems. She grew up in Indianapolis and raised her family in Plainfield, Indiana. After raising her family, she completed her college education, earning bachelor's degrees in sociology and criminal justice. She worked for several years as an epidemiologist. She later moved to Champaign, Illinois and worked for many years with Baptist Family Services. After retiring, she moved to Los Lunas, New Mexico in 2006. She was a great friend of animals and during her lifetime she raised numerous breeds of dogs, chickens, ducks, geese, llamas, turtles and tortoises. She was a faithful supporter of ASPCA and numerous other organizations devoted to animal welfare. She also collected stamps and coins and enjoyed painting. She was preceded in death by her daughter Stacy. She is survived by her daughter Shelley, by her granddaughters Dawn and Mandy, and by her great grandchildren Cheyenne, Autumn and Keanu. She is also survived by Joanne Magalis, her friend and companion of twenty five years and by her canine friends Chloe and TyTy, the bulldog.
