WALSH-Patricia Burns Walsh, 77, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away in her sleep at home February 13, 2010. She is survived by her brother, Larry Burns of Chicago and his wife Jayne; five sons, Thomas and his wife Bobbi of Columbus, GA, Lawrence of Albuquerque, NM, Jerry of Rio Rancho, NM, James Terence and his wife Christine of St. Louis, MO, Michael and his wife April of Rio Rancho, NM; eight grandchildren, Christine, Mitchell, Katherine, Ben, Mark, Nathan, Jonathan and Reagan; caretaker considered part of the family, Margaret McNatt and her two sons Patrick and Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Walsh, who passed away in 1999. Patricia was born November 6, 1932 to Lawrence and Bertha Burns of Chicago, IL where she resided with both parents until her father passed away when she was a teen. She attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO, where she met Thomas. After Thomas’s military assignment in 1964, the Walsh’s, including four boys, settled in Versailles, MO. A fifth boy was born shortly after in 1966. In addition to her full-time job as wife and mother, Patricia worked for many years with the Missouri Department of Family Services and retired in 1997. After the death of her husband, she and her son, Jerry, moved to Albuquerque, NM. Patricia had been a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America where she encouraged her five sons to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, and the Special Olympics in which Jerry is an avid bowler.
