Patsy M. Martinez

Martinez, Patsy M Age 87, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, was embraced by the Lord and entered into Eternal life, Friday, October 18, 2013. She was born in Cuba, NM on July 26, 1926, and was a resident of Alameda, NM, where she was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Each year Patsy looked forward to volunteering for the annual Church Fiestas. She was a great cook and still made fresh tortillas for her family. Patsy will be fondly remembered as a sweet, generous loving person. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert H. Martinez in March 2013; her son, Bonifacio Montoya; and her sister, Lila Mora. Patsy is survived by her loving children, Ben Montoya and wife Linda, Jerry Montoya and Isabel, Albert Montoya, Lucy Montoya, Clara Gutierrez and husband Marvin, Marty Abeyta; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Candy Montoya whom she raised as her own; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving are her brother, Juan Moreno and wife Isabel; many other relatives and a host of friends. Patsy will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched. Visitations will be Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 9502 Fourth Street NW, where a Rosary will be recited at 8:00 a.m. and followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at San Carlos Cemetery, Albuquerque. Casket Bearers will be Ben Montoya, Jerry Montoya, Albert Montoya, Juan Moreno, Marvin Gutierrez and Marty Abeyta.
