Paul B. Lucero, it is with great and deep sadness that the family members of Paul B. Lucero announce the death of a husband, father, brother, uncle and son. Paul is survived by his wife Teresa Lucero of 17 ½ years. Paul was born on June 18, 1959, and sadly he left us broken hearted when he died on June 25, 2018. He was the eldest son of the late Mr. Luis Lucero, and his mother, Mrs. Inez (Sanchez) Padilla of Albuquerque. Paul was preceded in death by his father Mr. Luis Lucero, his single paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Lucero of Cuba, NM and his dual maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ignacio Padilla of Albuquerque, NM and Mr. and Mrs. Jose De La Luz Sanchez, mother-in-law Judy Juliana also of Albuquerque.
Paul leaves behind a long list of people that truly loved and cared for him-the list begins with his wife Teresa Lucero; son, Chris Langwell (Tamara) three daughters, Juliana Langwell, Paula and Joy, very special grandson Reid Langwell, four siblings, his sister Jo Ann Arellanes (Rob); Chris Lucero (Patsy); John Lucero (Jill); Richard Lucero (Guadalupe, "Lupe") brother-in-law Jim Juliana (Cheryl) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews.
Paul worked for the City of Albuquerque Solid Waste Department for 24 ½ years as a Commercial Supervisor. His co-workers, friends and acquaintances all join the family at this time of great sadness and mourning.
Paul served as an US Marine, enjoyed Nascar and his Pittsburg Steelers, dirt racing with his Grandson Reid Langwell, he even managed to fake a half-hearted interest in WWE, although he probably enjoyed it way more then he would ever let on.
To all those Paul leaves behind, it is absolutely true that only God knows the exact day of our departure from his very temporary life into the next and eternal one-even when we try very hard to be the captain of our own ship. On the other hand, it’s totally up to each of us as individuals, to ponder the true meaning of life, the temporary here and now, and the never-ending hereafter-then, we must choose wisely to make the most of our lives while there is still time to do so. It is also absolutely true that no one is promised more than the breath that is currently in their lungs-we aren’t even promised the very next breath-as such, that is how valuable Family, Love, Life and Relationships really are, and should be. With Paul’s passing, we are made uniquely aware that we will always maintain a spot in our hearts that will never be filled by loss this side of our own death-so, may we let this particular time also be one of keen personal reflection, especially while there is still light to accomplish those things that will be left as our own legacies.
