Paul Bud Nielsen

NIELSEN-Paul "Bud" Nielsen passed away peacefully on December 10, 2010 at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Pat; daughters Deborah (Jody) Lickteig, Brenda (Clay) Holcomb, and Jamie (Jeremy) Cox. Bud was a beloved grandfather to eight grandchildren Paul, Cody, and Nathan Lickteig, Josh, Kayla, and Natalie Holcomb, and Jaden and Jenna Cox. Bud was preceded in death by his son Paul, his parents Ove and Elsie Nielsen and his sister Judy Gaston. He was born and raised in Alamosa, Colorado, where he graduated from Adams State College. He owned and operated Bill Clark Truck Line until 1996. During that time Bud was active in the community serving on several organizations boards as well as the city council and mayor pro-tem. In 1996 he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he remained semi-retired and continued to serve as a Vice Chair of Alamosa State Bank board of directors which he was a partner since 1988. Bud was an avid golfer and gardner. Services are being held Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
