Paul P. Velarde

VELARDE, Paul P., 83, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2010. A long time resident of Albuquerque, Paul was born June 29, 1926 in Gallup, NM to Leandro and Teresita (Valencia) Velarde. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary S. Velarde, and son Harold Velarde. Paul is survived by his children; Bernice Martinez, Dolores Velarde, Judy Caruso and husband Mark, Alma Terrazas, Gary Velarde, Wanda Garcia, Elizabeth Zawahri and husband Chris, Christine Gonzalez, Joseph Velarde, Bernadette Terrazas and husband Juan, sister, Dora Medrano and husband Joe, 26 Grandchildren, and 48-Great Grandchildren, and Six Great-Great Grandchildren. Paul enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, bowling, and loved his family especially all of his grandchildren, who were very special to him. He was a jokester who lived life to the fullest and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Pallbearers will be; Patrick Velarde, Dominic Velarde, Tommy Velarde, Carlos Velarde, Eugene Martinez, Jason Velarde, Gary Velarde, Jr., Abdul Zawahri and Mohammad Zawahri.
