Paula Jean Whittlesey

Paula Jean Whittlesey, beloved mother, sister and daughter, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 17th in Albuquerque at the age of 57.  She is survived by her daughter Sonia, her sister Kim, her brothers Jerry, Jimmy, Hemming and Per as well as her parents Maria and Richard.

Paula loved her two cats Jazzy and Bailey for the 16 years they spent together.  She also loved gardening, reading every book she could get her hands on, and watching professional bull riding.  Paula loved to dance to all types of music and loved to laugh.

Paula spent many dedicated years recruiting talent for specialty positions in the Department of Energy and Defense.  She had a knack for placing the right person in the right position.

Paula gave every effort to be the best mother that she could be and had many gifts that made her special.  She always listened to her heart, had a propensity to give good advice and was somehow able to know what you were thinking before the words came out.

God our strength and our redeemer:
you do not leave us in this life
nor abandon us in death.
Hear our prayer for those in despair,
when days are full of darkness
and the future empty of hope.
Renew in them your sustaining strength
for we believe that there is nothing in all creation
that can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., at Daniel’s Family Funeral Services ~ Wyoming Chapel.
