April 4, 1928 — July 11, 2009

HEIMBACH_Pauline Eleanore (Peterson) Heimbach, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009. Pauline was born April 4, 1928 the daughter of Arthur and Ellen Westlin Peterson in Albert City, Iowa. After High School Graduation in Albert City, Pauli attended a business college in Omaha, NE, and received a diploma in Secretarial Training. For a few years, she worked for various banks in Storm Lake, IA, then she joined her mother in traveling to Los Alamos, NM, to visit her brother, Glenn, and his family. Pauli decided to stay at Los Alamos and at first worked for the local bank and credit union. Eventually she was hired by the Los Alamos Laboratory where she was employed for 40 years. She married the love of her life on September 8, 1962 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Los Alamos, NM. During her tenure with the Lab, Pauli started as a clerk and worked her way to Government Vehicle Coordinator. Pauline and David lived in White Rock until they relocated to Rio Rancho in 1992. Pauli was very active in church work. At Los Alamos, she sang in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Choir, coordinated the publication of 2 editions of a church cookbook, and was an active participant in the church women's organization. She transferred to All Saints Lutheran Church when they relocated to Rio Rancho where she continued to sing in the choir and participate in church women's group functions. Even though Pauli was born with a congenital hip disorder and subsequently had three hip replacements, that never kept her from living a normal, active life. She loved to travel, garden and cook. In 2004, she was diagnosed as having Alzheimer's Disease. Through it all, she still managed to keep that beautiful smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ellen Peterson; two sisters, Phyllis Bahls and Doreen Anderson; and one brother, Glenn Vogt. Pauli is survived by her loving husband, David; one brother, The Rev. Burnell Peterson and wife Eileen of Albuquerque. Contributions may be made to a memorial fund set up in her memory at All Saints Lutheran Church, 4800 All Saints Road NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. Arrangements are entrusted to:
