Age 90, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Brownsville, TX on December 4, 1924 to James A. and America L. (Watkins) McSmith. Marie and her family moved to Albuquerque, NM when she was very young. The family was looking for land to homestead and moved to Polvadera, NM and opened up a small mercantile store. Marie met Henry Clyde Gray and they were married in 1945. Clyde passed away in 1990. Marie was very dedicated to her family and a hard worker. She would do anything for anybody that needed help and she was very strong in her faith. Marie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, James Edwin Gray; sisters, Oneta Storey and Alva L. McSmith; granddaughter, Melissa Steinbarger; and son-in-law, Charley R. Sage. Marie is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Jojola and husband, Albert; Kathy Sage; Lynda Hinkeldey and husband, Gaylen; and Karen Unruh; her son, Damon Gray and wife, Cindy; sister, Maxine Dryden and husband, Jim; brother, Troy McSmith and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Waco Muse and wife, Kris; Shawna Sage; Wes Muse and wife, Tammi; John Jojola and wife, Perfecta; Jeremy Jojola and wife, Alexis; Charley R. Sage Jr. and wife, Andrianne; Leslie Mosley and husband, Lee; Donita Muse; and Cody Unruh; eighteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church Socorro, 203 Spring Street, Socorro. Inurnment will be held in the Socorro Cemetery.
