Pernell Bia was born into the Red Streak Running Into the Water People Clan for the Mexican People Clan. Bia attended Many Farms Public School, Chinle Jr. High and graduated from Chinle High School in 1992. He was employed with Navajo Tribal Utility Authority and was an active member of playing with native country bands, last being Kountry Outsiders, Genuine, Highway 491 and other bands. Bia had the love of music and restoring cars. Survivors include his son, Sheldon Bia; daughters, Kristen Bia, Paige Bia; parents, Emmett and Priscilla Bia Sr.; brothers, Emmett Bia Jr., Shaun Bia; sisters, Sharon Bia, Emmeleta Burruel. Bia was preceded in death by his grandparents, Seth Begay, Agnes Begay, Andrew Bia, Helen Bia. Pallbearers will be Daniel Wauneka, Radford Lee, Jeffery Tsosie, Darrell Tsosie, Darrell Redhouse, Elton Arthur. The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Parish Hall, Many Farms, following services. Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
