PETE MARTINEZ

Pete Martinez, 78, passed away on September 8, 2019.  He was born in Alameda, NM on May 2, 1941, the son of Juanita Pacheco and Gaspar Martinez.

Pete and Cecilia blended their families in 1987 and created a loving home for their children in Rio Rancho, NM. Pete shared a love for horses and harvest season, especially green chile, with his family. He could be found baking and cooking on the weekend for everyone he loved. Pete’s second love next to his family was working in the hospitality industry. He found great joy in giving others joy with his kindness and funny personality. Pete’s lite-hearted and easy going spirit made him very easy to work with, laugh with and love. Along with his family, over the years had made many life-long friends that will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased in death by his mother-in-Law, Deluvina Garcia; his bother, Ernest Martinez; and sister, Sally Drapeau. Pete is survived by his wife, Cecilia; and five children, son – Pete Martinez Jr.; daughters – Pauline Martinez, and Debbie Martinez; sons - David Trujillo, Vince Trujillo and wife Carmella; sister – Mabel Speronelli; brother – Richard Martinez and wife Lillian; father-in- Law - Juan Garcia; along with ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11 a.m., Daniel’s Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
