Moreno, Pete "Compa"

Pete ” Compa”  Moreno passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020. Pete was born on July 29, 1932 in Gallup, NM. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Lisa Moreno. In his younger days Pete took up steer wrestling, from what he told about it he was darn good at it. Upon leaving his home town of Gallup, Pete ventured out to California. As a young man he landed a great job with Norris Industries manufacturing airplane parts for the Air Force. It was there he learned the value of hard work. When Pete returned to New Mexico he took up residence In Albuquerque. Pete worked 2 more jobs until age caught up with him and he could no longer work. He worked at a Texaco Mini Mart. Pete was the social butterfly at Texaco. Pete made many friends while he was employed there.  Always greeting customers with a smile and fresh pots of coffee. He enjoyed buying coffee and other goodies for customers. Pete’s last job was at Isleta Casino, as always greeting customers with a smile. Pete had great work ethics. He loved sports, especially boxing and football. Pete was quite the collector, he collected replicas of old cars, airplanes, Coca Cola memorabilia and Texaco memorabilia. Pete took pride in his appearance always looking very dapper. Throughout his lifetime Pete was very strong in his Christian faith. Always believing, never doubting he would meet the Lord when the time came. Pete was very giving, kind, friendly and generous. He loved telling jokes, stories and at times was quite the prankster. No matter where Pete went he carried candy with him ready to share with others. That was always a given with Pete.  Pete & his wife loved dogs, owning many in their time together. Pete will be missed & remembered by many friends & loving caregivers.

Due to COVID restrictions a private memorial service will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, 11:00 A.M., 3113 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque, NM

Following the service please join us at Pete’s final resting place, Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE, Albuquerque, NM, 12:00 noon.
