Peter Anthony Lucero

Peter Anthony Lucero, age 57, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  He was born October 16, 1966 to Charles and Theresa Lucero, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  He was a graduate of Rio Grande High School, Class of 1984.  Peter married the love of his life, Dora Fernandez Lucero, November 15, 1997, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In addition to working for Old Dominion Freight Line for 15 years, he enjoyed construction work with his boys. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Theresa Lucero; and his sister, Lumar Aragon.

Peter is survived by his wife of 26 years, Dora Lucero; sons, Felipe Fernandez, Michael Lucero, Peter Lucero Jr, Stephen Lucero, Joseph Lucero, Charles Lucero, Peter Lucero III, Fernando Lucero, Florentino Lucero, Diego Fernandez; brother, Charles Lucero; sister, Patty Lucero; sister, Charlene Lucero; brother, Rick Lucero; and 18 grandchildren.

Services will begin with visitation Wednesday, October 25, 12:00pm – 2:00pm, Daniels Family Funeral Services – Southern Chapel, 2400 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Rosary will be recited, 6:00pm, Wednesday, October 25, 2023, Daniels Family Funeral Services – Southern Chapel, 2400 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Mass will be celebrated, Thursday, October 26^th, 11:30am, St John Vianney Catholic Church, 1001 Meteor Ave NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144.  Peter will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102 at 1:00pm.

The family extends sincere appreciation to all their family and friends for their ongoing support. 

Although my leaving causes pain and grief,

My going has eased my hurt and given me relief,

So, dry your eyes and remember me,

Not as I am now, but as I used to be.

Because I will remember you all and look on with a smile.

Understand in your hearts, I’ve only gone to rest a little while.

As long as I have the love of each of you,

I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.
