Philip Prindle

May 2, 1948 — October 23, 2015

     Philip Prindle was born on May 2, 1948 in Palo Alto, CA. to William F. Prindle Jr. and Rosemary Harley Prindle.  He was 67 when he died of a brain aneurysm in Albuquerque, NM on Oct. 25.  He grew up in Colorado Springs, CO., and attended public schools there.  He graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. with a degree in history in 1975, and later studied American History at University of California at Santa Barbara.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his younger brother, Fred Prindle.  

     He is survived by his sister, Caroline Prindle Norquist and her husband Elliot Norquist of Carbondale CO.,  his niece Mariah Harley Wheir of Denver, his nephews, William Hugh Wheir and wife Julie of Bend Oregon, and Frederick Prindle Norquist, of White Salmon , WA.  Philip has 2 great nephews, Liam Wheir and Colton Wheir of Bend, Oregon.  He is also survived by special friends Justin and Hannah Wecks, and their daughters, Sterling and Asa of Silver City, N.M.  

     Phil worked as a private builder in Santa Fe and Albuquerque for over 30 years.  He was a masterful craftsman and builder.  He devoted recent years to his unique, meticulously designed and crafted home remodels.  He enjoyed traveling to favorite cities and beaches in Mexico, swimming in his favorite Mexican waters, and studying Spanish. He frequently traveled to see his family in Colorado and Oregon. Phil was a passionate and knowledgeable fan of International bike racing. He will be dearly missed by his friends, colleagues, and family for his intellectual curiosity,  his courage,  his quiet, tenacious devotion to everything and everyone he loved, and his dry, uniquely “Phil” humor.

     Memorial contributions may be made in Phil’s name to the humanitarian, environmental or animal charity of your choice, or USA Cycling Assn, youth development programs.
