Phillip Michael Martinez

Phillip Michael Martinez, age 61, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was embraced by the Lord, Sunday, September 7, 2014.   He was born in Santa Fe, NM on May 26, 1953, and was a resident of Rio Rancho, NM.  Michael enjoyed fishing, camping, and the outdoors.  He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.  Michael attended the University of New Mexico where he received his Bachelor's degree in Architecture.  He worked for various Architects in Albuquerque as an Intern Architect. He retired from the City of Albuquerque, where he worked as a Plan Reviewer.  Michael will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, and as a kind man who loved his family so much.  Michael is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Isabel Martinez; his son, Mario Martinez and fiancé, Jessica Hill; and his daughter, Elisa Martinez; his granddaughter, Nina Martinez; his brothers, Anthony and George Martinez; sister, Betty Salas; and many other relatives and friends.  Michael will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.  Visitation will be Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St., NW, where a Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m.  Final Viewing will be Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Daniels Family - Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth St. NW.  Service of Christian Burial will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.  Casket Bearers will be David Velasco, David Chavez, Jr., Robert Mascarenas, Jude Saiz, Victor Martinez, and Louie Carrillo.  Honorary Bearers will be Ray Trujillo, Enrique Candelaria, and Ned Cherry.
