Jeanie was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, friend and confidant. Her smile, laugh, sense of humor and the sparkle in her eye will be greatly missed.
Phyllis Jean Chavez (Jeanie or PJ) passed away peacefully in her sleep at her daughter’s home on September 24, 2022 after a long battle with Parkinson’s. She was born on January 20, 1947 in Trinidad, CO to her late parents Charles and Maxine Fouch and spent most of her life in the Albuquerque, NM area.
Well known and cherished for her wonderful smile, compassion and kindness, Jeanie will be missed by many. She is survived by her daughter Kaylene Schulze (Joe), her son Charles Templeton; her siblings: Charlene Jackson (David), Donald Fouch, Bill Fouch, Pam Singleton, Lyle Fouch, and Forrest Fouch (Linda); and her seven grandchildren that she loved dearly. Jeanie also had a deep fondness and love for her dogs: Mimi, Dolly, Honey, and Koda.
She was a dedicated and extremely hard worker all throughout her life and always generous of spirit. One of the many activities she enjoyed was pursuing her talents of painting porcelain dolls for her family. Her dolls were so lovely that she even won several ribbons at the New Mexico State Fair. She also loved people and visiting with them. She held several interesting jobs in her life; from making turquoise jewelry, to working at the Albuquerque Petroleum Club alongside her mother, to working as a phone operator for over 15 years for AT&T and finally most recently for Sandia Resort & Casino for 20 years. Through all these roles she enjoyed visiting and interacting with her customers and bringing a smile to their faces when she could.
Jeanie was kind and generous and a fierce protector of her family. She loved them deeply, quirks and all, all her life. Even in her final years as her disease progressed, her compassion and love of her family was ever present and very clear. She kept loving them and of course they kept loving her and always will. She enriched the lives of all who knew her.
Jeanie will lovingly be remembered by so many as “THE FAVORITE”.
You will never be forgotten, always loved and greatly missed.
Love you ~ always and forever.
