Phyllis Joy Herring Stein

Phyllis Joy Herring Stein passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, with loved ones by her side. She was born in Ralls, Texas, on January 3, 1950, to Odell and Joy Herring. She lived in Hobbs, NM, from 7th grade on through high school. She lived most of her adult life in Cincinnati, Ohio, a city that she loved. In 2015 she moved to Rio Rancho, NM, to be near her mother and her sister and brother-in-law.

Phyllis loved nature, animals, and the night sky. She was a person who made friends easily, was generous, and had a big heart. She will be deeply missed by many people.

She is survived by her daughter Nicole Stein, her sister Paula Boggs, her brother-in-law Jeff Boggs, and several special cousins.
