Phyllis E. Taylor

Phyllis E. Taylor, age 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20th, 2020.  She was born October 23rd, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to Leo & Doris (Rowe) Mayo.  She was a 1942 graduate of Highland Park High School.  She married Kenneth A. Taylor on June 8, 1946 and they were married just shy of 70 years when Kenneth preceded her in death in 2016.  Phyllis’ pride and joy was her family.  She loved every minute she had with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She had a witty sense of humor that spread ripples of laughter & happiness to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.  She is survived and celebrated by her children Rene (Jim) Pelner and Paul (Pat) Taylor; her grandchildren Jim (Jenny) Pelner, Michelle (Joe) Pelner Behm, Christian (Kerry) Taylor, and Ross (Amy) Taylor; and 6 great-grandchildren Makenna, Camden, Ashley, Delaney, Reegan, and Brayden.  She will be remembered by family and friends as a loving soul who chose to see the best in everyone and loved all animals (even the occasional lizard).  Her legacy of love and compassion for family and animals will be carried on by those who love her.  The family believes that when someone passes, their life does not end, but rather changes.  We take comfort in knowing that Phyllis has reached a place of everlasting peace alongside Jesus Christ.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society in her name.
