Piedad G. Diaz

Piedad Gomez de Diaz, known to many as Mercy, 92 years young, passed away on March 11, 2014. She was born on March 27, 1921 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose Gomez and Tomasa Avila de Gomez. Piedad was the last living member of her immediate family and is survived by her five children, Ruben, Tomas, Josefina, Carmen, and Virginia as well as ten grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Our mother was a humble, kind, and compassionate woman who loved her family and children and devoted her whole life to their proper up-bringing. She had a great sense of humor and was always the center of attention at family gatherings. She loved classical music, traditional Mexican music, and loved to dance. She loved gardening and had a �green thumb.� Above all, she loved our Lord Jesus Christ and depended on Him for everything her entire life. We miss you, mother, but you have been called to God�s garden. A Viewing will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 12:15 pm - 12:45 pm followed with the Catholic Mass Service at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Interment will follow at 2:30 pm at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
