Polly Ryan

January 15, 1928 — May 18, 2014

Ryan, (Polly) Pauline Marie Age 86, died peacefully on Sunday morning, May 18, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her sons, Bill Ryan and his wife Joi of Rio Rancho, NM, Terry Ryan and his wife Mayra of San Jose, CA; four grandchildren, Kit Ryan, Will Ryan both of San Jose, CA, Melissa Ryan Segundo of Rio Rancho, NM, and Brandon Ryan of Atlanta, GA; one great-grandson, Gabino of Rio Rancho, NM, and numerous other relatives that she loved dearly. Polly was born in Joliet, IL of parents, Mary Milosevich and Anton Zager. She was preceded in death by her husband, (Bill) William J. Ryan, a WWII Navy veteran. Her community involvement in Mokena, IL included: a successful real estate business, Polly Ryan Realty; an Officer of the Chamber of Commerce for 20 years; an activist; and a leader of the Independence Day parade as Polly the Clown. Polly transferred these pursuits to Fairwinds of Rio Rancho where she was on the welcoming committee and organizer of Pollys Follys, the afternoon ladies happy hour. She loved to play cards. It didnt matter if it was Pinochle, Canasta, Bridge, or Euchre. Polly played for fun, but being highly competitive meant she played to win. Bingo was also an enthusiastic pastime of hers. Polly and Bill hosted many extended family holiday parties filled with exuberant revelry. In her later years, she thoroughly enjoyed attending family dinners as well as spending time with precious relatives as they visited her in Rio Rancho. A Remembrance Celebration will be held at 11:00 am, Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
