Porfirio Ulibarri Apodaca age 85, from Polvadera, NM went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2016 in Socorro, NM at the Good Samaritan Society surrounded by all his children. He was born on January 7th, 1931 in San Marcial, NM to Misais Apodaca & Tomasita Ulibarri. Porfirio had a very active life. He worked at NM Tech for many years. He also worked for the Socorro Consolidated Schools from which he retired after 13 years of service as a custodian. He really enjoyed his retirement and traveling to Texas to visit with his daughter and grandkids and he also enjoyed going to his grandkids games. Porfirio is survived by his sons Ronnie & wife Frances of Socorro, NM; Carl & wife Eileen of Magdalena, NM; Gary & wife Juanita of Polvadera,NM; David & wife Ida of Belen, NM and his daughter Sandra & Husband Melchor of Arlington, TX; his sisters Clara Gutierrez, Edna Rivera & Helen Harmon; and also his many grandchildren, great & great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Misais Apodaca, mother Tomasita Ulibarri; daughters Lorraine & Rosemary Apodaca; and his brothers Misais Apodaca Jr., Peter Garcia & Walter Ulibarri. Pallbearers will be Danny Apodaca, Melchor Oyervides, John Vote & Angel Guevara. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Porfirio's grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids.  A private viewing was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 10:00am at Daniel’s Funeral Home in Socorro, NM. Rosary & Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 8:30am at San Miguel Church at 403 El Camino Real.
