Chavez, Preciliano "Precy"

Preciliano "Precy" Chavez, age 87, of Albuquerque, passed peacefully at home on January 23, 2016. He was born in Los Chavez, NM on September 5, 1928.
He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Donna Chavez; his parentsTiburcio and Rosina (Luz) Chavez; Brothers Arthur, Simon and Tibo Jr. Chavez and sister Mary Helen Cordova.
Precy is survived by wife, Celina Chavez; daughters Lucy Vasquez and husband Dan of Abq, Rosemary Cordova and husband Mike of Lake Mary, FL; Frances Chavez of Aurora CO; three grandsons, Christopher Vasquez and wife Amanda of Abq; Eric Cordova and wife Erin of Sandford, FL, Jason Cordova of Altamonte Springs, FL; three granddaughters, Michelle Herrera and husband Jason of Abq, Danielle Levstik and husband Mark of Arvada, CO, Antoinette Gonzales of Aurora CO. Mr. Chavez is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Ryan Adair, Kennedy and Matthew Levstik of Arvada, CO; Mia and Marissa Herrera, Noah Vasquez of Abq, Sailor, Cade and Jet Cordova of Sanford, FL.
Precy is also survived by his sisters Corina Apodoca, Gregorita Chavez, Nilda and husband Ron Coe; brother Frank Chavez; Rudy Cordova, sisters-in-law Dorothy, Nellie and Nancy Chavez, Bertha and Felipe Herrera, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preciliano worked for the Santa Fe Railway for 43 years, and retired in September 1990. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Preciliano proudly served in the United States Army, and was stationed in Yokohama, Japan.
Precy enjoyed crossword puzzles, National Geographic, Lawrence Welk Show, and playing the accordion and harmonica.
Public viewing will take place on Wednesday, January 27th, from 3:30-5:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services located at 3113 Carlisle Blvd, NE.
Mass will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016, 9:00 am, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd, NW, Abq. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Abq.
The family would like to express their deep felt gratitude to Dr. Stuhlberg and all the other wonderful doctors and staff at UNM Hospital, the caring staff of Gentiva Hospice who guided and supported us in caring for our dad in the comfort of his home, Father Joe Vigil and to our family and friends who supported us through this difficult time.
