R. Glynn Reid

Reid, R Glynn  

Age 96, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018. He was born in Sunset, TX on June 21, 1921, to Earl Reid and Odessa Waldrip.

Glynn grew up on a farm in Quay County, NM, moved to Los Angeles with his friend, Leonard Gowdy at the age of 19 without a car or job to go to Aircraft school. He was hired by Lockheed where he worked until enlisting in the Navy.

He graduated from Portor High School, and California State University earning his Associates Degree. He joined the U.S. Navy during WWII from November 1942 - February 1946.

Glynn was a member of the Masons and Telegraph Pioneers; a church member of Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church. He was employed by AT&T for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Arleene Reid; parents, Earl and Odessa Reid; sister, Earlene Dalton.

Glynn is survived by his sons, Steven Reid of Rio Rancho, NM and Travis Reid of Los Angeles, CA; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Inurnment Committal will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2018 at 12:45 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe.  A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, 1004 24th St. SE.

The Reid family wants to give a special thank you to The Retreat, and Dr. Ortega for caring so well for our father this past year.
