Rachael Olivia Green

Green, Rachael Olivia 90, passed away peacefully and with a gentle smile on Monday, August 11, 2014 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lemitar , NM on September 24, 1923 to Geronimo and Manuelita "Lita" (Jaramillo) Griego. She was a lifelong resident of Socorro. Rachael was a very loving and soft spoken woman who was beautiful inside and out. She always had kind words to share with everyone. She was a devout member of San Miguel and was faithful and committed to making "Visitas". She and Peter would visit Chimayo de Santuario every year. She enjoyed her novellas, cooking, gardening, and especially shopping. More than anything else, Rachael admired her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her husband, Joe G. Green; her brothers, Joe; Gregorio; and Albert Griego; and her beloved son in law, Trini Padilla. Rachael is survived by her loving daughters, Sarah Green Padilla and husband, George; Beatrice Sedillo and husband, Tony; Helen Alderete; Josie Jojola; Gloria Sedillo and husband, Ronnie; Belinda Green Padilla; and Dee Dee Green; 22 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her very special niece, Della Griego; and many other loving family members. Rachael will also be greatly missed by her companion of 44 years, Peter Armijo Jr and also by her dedicated caregivers, Miranda Coronado; Tina Carrillo; Michelle Tombs; and Vincent Mueller; the family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for their exceptional care to our beloved Mother, Your kindness will always be remembered. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 8:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro, followed by the Mass of Resurrection celebrated at 9:00 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Lemitar Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joseph Padilla, Jared Padilla, Johnny Valenzuela Jr., Jerry Griego, Joel Green, and Joshua Green. Honorary pallbearers are all of Rachael's loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
