Rafael Vega

VEGA - Rafael Vega, 52, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at his home in Socorro, NM. Rafael was born on December 2, 1958 in Socorro to Jose Antonio Sr. and Maria (Rodriguez) Vega. He is survived by his devoted children, Christopher and wife Rachel; Michelle Castillo and husband, Jaime; and Paul Castillo; his loving grandchildren, Christopher; Patricia; Antonio; Lianna; Audrianna; Adrian; Aliyah; and Sabrina; his sisters, Rita Ayala; Victoria Zarate and husband, Ramon; Maria Guadalupe Samano and husband, Angel; and Josephine Kelley and husband, Mike; his brothers, Manuel Rodriguez and wife, Lupe; Arturo Vega; Ramon Vega and wife, Martha; and Eugene Vega and wife Joanne; and many other loving family members. Rafael was a lifelong resident of Socorro. He worked for Socorro Consolidated Schools for over 20 years. Rafael was an avid mechanic but was definitely a jack of all trades and a hard working man. He adored his children, his grandchildren, and his entire family. He loved watching western movies, listening to Leonard Skinnard, and was a devoted Washington Redskins fan. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Rafael was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jose Antonio Vega Jr. and Jose Rodriguez. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 6:00 pm at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Socorro Chapel. Honorary Pallbearers are all Rafael’s loving grandchildren.
