Baca, Ralph Tony Age 94, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on April 24, 1919, to Epafrodito and Gregorita (Garcia) Baca. He worked for Civilian conservation Corp, before entering into the Army. Ralph was one of the original members of the Air National Guard, a WWII veteran, Korean conflict and Vietnam before he retired in 1979 as SCMSGT. Later he went back to school to learn various traits and ended up working at TVI helping out the teachers because he was so well liked. After he left TVI he was hired by Akai security to be in charge of the Spanish village during the State Fair and went on to run security at the Stables for the horses during Fair time. After he retired he built a cabin with his sons and family members in Jemez and really started to enjoy his retirement. Ralph and Flora enjoyed traveling. Ralph enjoyed life to the fullest, he loved to dance, listen to music, loved his family and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and as Ralph would say "Remember the Alamo" and "One for the Road". He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; sister; one daughter and a grandson. Ralph is survived by his wife of 67 years, Flora Baca; four children, Gloria Martinez Serdinsky, Lawrence Baca, Anthony Baca and wife, Lynn and Phillip Baca and wife Rita; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 820 Broadway Blvd. SE. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013, 10:00 am, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, with full military honors.
