With much love and deep sorrow, we mourn the passing of Ralph Gebara, our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and loyal friend. We will miss him deeply. Ralph is preceded in death by his beloved wife Yolanda and grandson Erich. Ralph is survived by his son David, his daughter Gail, his son-in-laws Chris, his beautiful granddaughters Morgan and Ashley, and his amazing grandchildren Jayden and Faith.
Ralph was born in Watkins Glen, New York - the second generation son of Lebanese immigrants. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He dived under ships where he diffused bombs. Ralph was a self-made man. He was a Uranium miner, a mining boss, an entrepreneur, a Humane Officer and a Federal trapper before retiring.
He loved to fish, garden and do wood working projects with this grandson Erich. He gave his beautiful wooden crosses to nursing homes, churches, family, friends and strangers. For years he was a secret Santa Claus, a volunteer fireman and a Good Will Ambassador for disabled children and adults. He brought joy, laughter and kindness to everyone he knew. He loved his family, neighbors, friends and animals. Ralph was always smiling and he had a great sense of humor.
Born into the Syrian Orthodox religion, he later became Catholic and was born again in his later years. Ralph would say that "this way he covered all bases." Ralph will be missed by not forgotten. He brought so much light into this world. We are sure he has them laughing in Heaven.
