Ralph Edward Mahan, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep from this life on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at his home in Aztec. He was born March 14, 1930 in Lindrith, New Mexico to Fred and Bessie Mahan. Ralph graduated from Farmington High in 1950. In 1950 he became employed with El Paso Natural Gas Company until his retirement in 1985. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl and Lee Mahan, sisters Nora and Jessie and a grandson Blake Steward. Ralph is survived by his wife Shirley Mahan; sister Bonnie Mahan, daughter Rachel (Johnny) Staff, daughter Kathy (Leonard)Foyt, son Richard (Lucy) Mahan, daughter Becky (Delmar) Newman, daughter Rene Steward, aunt Mabel Elizabeth Dye Peek, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and dear friends. Friends may call Sunday, January 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St. in Farmingotn. Funeral services for Ralph are Monday, January 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Aztec, 505 N. Oliver Street in Aztec. Ralph will then be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St. in Farmington. Pallbearers are Jacob Ruybalid, Erik Saiz, Edward Saiz, Rodney Fisher, David Steward and Michael Staff.
