Maxey, Ralph C.
Ralph Cameron Maxey, 94, passed away August 19th, 2015. He was born in Birch Tree Missouri to John and Ada Maxey. He was preceded in death by wife, Viola Maxey; son, Gordan Ray Maxey; parents, brothers, Harold and Leon, and sisters, Vada and Margaret. Ralph is survived by his children, Catherine Wagner (Bill), Rose Bensinger (Bud), John Maxey, Ada Michel (Ken), Ralph Maxey (JoAnn), Gloria Maxey-McLain, Karen Klebesadel (William), Alice Maxey (Steve), Terry Maxey (Amor), Gail Young (Robert), Freda Shoots, Thelma Madewell (Charles), Nona Montoya (Ray), Carol Surban (Miguel), Joe Maxey (Julie); along with sisters, Betty Jean Hailey (Lloyd), Edith Wilson, Virginia Martin; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Ralph served in World War II, in the Army Signal Corp for four years, where he was instrumental in the installation of the first world-wide communications system on the Island of Guam. He retired from Western Electric after more than 30 years of service. Ralph was a master gardener and was most content with a shovel in his hand or kneeling in the dirt talking to his cutworms, Charlie and Jethro. His family would like to thank Hospice of the Sandia's for the wonderful care and services they provided Ralph with. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Private services will be held.
