ARAGON MARCOS RAMON - Our hearts are saddened to announce the passing of our father Ramon on May 9, 2012 at the age of 83 from a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores O. Ortiz; their six children, eldest son Robert and wife Michele, son Philip and wife Viega, daughter Denise and husband Frank, daughter Gina, and twin daughters Mona and partner Debbie, Anna and partner Barb; their 8 grandchildren, Robert II, Sarah, Matthew, Brandon, Danielle, Jeremy, Jessica, Joshua; and their 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many other extended family members. Ramon is joined in heaven by his parents Hermino M.and Josphita T. Aragon and grandson, Philip Aragon II. Ramon was born on August 28, 1928 in Monticello, New Mexico and was baptized one week later in San Marcial, New Mexico. He lived in Socorro, NM for 16 years and graduated from Mt. Carmel parochial school in 1944. Ramon graduated from St. Mike��?�s in Santa Fe in 1948 and attended some college at UNM. He spent 44 years of his career at Eidal Mfg., ACF Industries, and GE Aircraft. Ramon has owned and operated El Ray Vineyards since 1984. The vineyard is still in operation by his daughter Anna Aragon. It was very important for Ramon to mention that he lived with his oldest sister Mary and brother-in-law Candido Romero from early childhood until he married in 1951. He learned the value of sharing, family bonds, and his thrift habits through very difficult economic times. Ramon and his wife are current members of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and have made past contributions to Annunciation Church. He also contributed to the Boy Scouting Program, Elks Club (36 years), and was President for 5 years for the St. Pius X High School Booster Club where he is now a lifetime member. Ramon was a deeply religious and hardworking man. He was known for his generous nature, always willing to give the shirt off of his back for anyone in need. His family knew him as very determined and committed to his family, friends, and God. Rosary will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Daniels Funeral Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, ABQ. Mass will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at Queen of Heaven Church, Phoenix Ave. NE, ABQ. Burial will follow mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, ABQ.
