Ramon Luna Cordero

May 31, 1955 — April 24, 2025

Ramon Luna Cordero, age 69, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025. He was called home to rest in the loving arms of Christ while surrounded by his family.

Ramon was born on August 31, 1955, in Manila, Philippines, to Leonardo Berco Cordero Sr. and Ninfa Luna. At the age of 13, he moved to San Francisco, California, where he built a new life alongside his siblings, rooted in hard work, love, and sacrifice. In 1995, he moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where he focused on starting a new chapter and creating a new home for his family. Ramon was married to his beloved wife, Emma Cordero, for 43 years, and together, they lovingly raised their children, Simon Gerard Cordero and Adrianne Cordero Sosa. Ramon was also the proud father of Micheal Cordero, from a previous marriage, who remained an important part of his life.

A passionate fan of the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and Golden State Warriors, Ramon devoted countless hours to cheering on his teams, sharing his enthusiasm at numerous family gatherings. His love of these teams was just one of the many ways he connected with his loved ones, always bringing energy and excitement to their shared moments.

He will be remembered most for his selfless dedication to his family, his love of horse racing, and, most of all, his humor and desire to make everyone laugh. Ramon’s ability to bring joy to others was a true gift, and his laughter will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Emma, his children Micheal and wife Nicole, Simon Gerard and wife Melissa, and Adrianne and husband Jose, his grandchildren Brady Chan, Kendall Chan, Amelia Cordero, and Gabriella Cordero, and his siblings Leonardo Cordero Jr., Jovita Vidal, Juliette Milligan, Maria Theresa Rescino, and Paul Cordero. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonardo Berco Cordero Sr. and Ninfa Luna.

The family requests any flower or monetary donations be sent to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

Ramon’s legacy of love, laughter, and perseverance will live on in all who knew and loved him.
