Age 78, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015. He was born in Barelas, NM on September 12, 1936 to the late Apolonio and Elvira (Aragon) Chavez. Raymond was a Washington Redskins fan, enjoyed football, boxing, sports, poker and loved dancing.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucy Chavez; daughters, Frances Griego and husband, Paul, Adriana Benvenuto and husband, Bobby, Sharmaine Montes and husband, Louie, Joyce Silva and husband, Antonio; grandchildren, Paul Griego Jr., Stephanie Hopkins, Cynthia Montes Chavez Pereyra, Andrew Chavez, Tony Benvenuto, Bobbi Jennay Montes, Pedro Montes, Daniel Montes; 12 great grandchildren; sister Theresa Martinez and many nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Garcia Mortuary ~ Chapel of Angels, 717 Stover Ave. SW with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:45 a.m. Interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be, Paul Griego Jr., Andrew Chavez, Tony Benvenuto, Pedro Montes, Daniel Montes and Grant Jacobs.
