Raymond Fletcher "Jack" Gwinn, 87, of Farmington, died on Saturday, April 2, 2011, in Farmington. He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Jacksboro, Texas, to Opal Bottoms and Raymond Gwinn.
Jack served in the U.S. Army from February 1943 to January 1946. He worked for 39 years, most of his life, in the oil field. Jack loved fishing, watching football, traveling in his motorhome and camping at Lake Powell and Navajo Lake. He worked on motorcycles and greatly enjoyed riding with his sons. He always hated being away from his family. He had special interest in the Casinos. He was always waiting on the big pay-out. He was preceded in death by wife, Ada Faye Gwinn; daughter-in-law, Anna Gwinn; parents, Opal Bottoms and Raymond Gwinn; brothers, Lewis Gwinn, Bob Gwinn and Gerald Gwinn. He is survived by wife, Mary Gwinn; sons, Dewayne Gwinn and Terry Gwinn; brothers, Basil Gwinn and Glen Gwinn; sisters, Geneva Landtrip and Francis Caudle; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, April 5, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Crestview Baptist Church, 4400 E. Main St. in Farmington, with Tim Castillo officiating. A reception will follow the services, at Crestview Baptist Church. Interment will be at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington. Pallbearers are Dewayne Gwinn, Terry Gwinn, Travis Gwinn, Robert McCune, Phillip Salazar and Jack Cundiff. Memorials may be made to Bonnie Dallas Senior Center, 109 E.
