Rebecca Ann (Becky) Kiefer

7/6/53 - 7/31/20

Our beloved Becky passed away at her home in Albuquerque. 

Becky was born in Buffalo, NY to Charles F. Kiefer and Lois A. Kiefer (nee Allison), and her family moved to Alamogordo, NM when she was very young.  She graduated Alamogordo High School in 1971.  Becky was a great cook and loved taking care of people.  Her compassion for people led her to pursue a career in the healthcare industry, where she served as a medical assistant, medical transcriptionist, office manager, and ultimately a certified medical coder, until she retired in 2017.  In her lifetime, she lived and worked in Alamogordo; Gatlinburg, TN; Denver, CO; and Albuquerque.  Becky will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for her intelligence, patience, thoughtfulness, sound medical intuition, and the compassionate guidance she provided to friends and family – medical and otherwise.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Noel Kiefer.  She is survived by her daughters Pamela Swafford and Angela Quintana (Dennis); her brother Charles Kiefer, sisters Allison Stephens (Steve) and Barbara Roberts (Klay); grandchildren Jorja Brickhouse, Hunter Brickhouse, and Zachary Quintana; and former husband and good friend, Rodney Swafford. 

Becky loved spending time in the mountains, so her family is planning a small mountain memorial service near Albuquerque.
