Reed H. Lewis

Reed H. Lewis, age 87, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on September 2, 1933, to Jay F. and Betty H. Lewis.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jay Lewis.

 

Reed is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley C. Lewis of Rockport, TX; sons, Jay S. Lewis and Maria of Santa Rita, Guam and Richard Lewis and Nancy of Albuquerque; grandsons, Andrew Lewis and Michael Lewis of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Jade Lewis of Santa Rita, Guam.

 

He was a Cadet at the US Naval Academy receiving his engineering degree in 1956. He later was awarded his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1962 from Stanford University. He served faithfully and honorably for 22 years from 1956 to 1978 in the US Air Force and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He was also a Vietnam War veteran.

 

After Reed retired from the Air Force, he and Shirley moved to Albuquerque where he worked for BDM for almost 20 years before he fully retiring and then they moved to Rockport.

 

A Graveside Service will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery with Military Honors.
