Larson, Ressie S. Age 90, has passed away. Ressie was the youngest of 12 children born to Willie F. Sampson and Callie Lowry of Pembroke, NC, and she was a member of the Lumbee Tribe. She graduated from the Normal School in Pembroke and earned an Associates Degree from Bob Jones University. Ressie worked in the War Department in Washington, D.C., during WWII and met her husband of 62 years, Charles, while working at Laurinburg-Maxton Army Air Base in North Carolina. Charles and Ressie settled in Wisconsin where they farmed and raised their family until the 1980s when they moved to Albuquerque, NM. In her late 50s, Ressie began a career with Mary Kay Cosmetics, became a Senior Director, proudly helped other women achieve their goals, and drove a Pink Cadillac for many years. Ressie was also an avid NBA fan. She was longtime member of both Mauston United Methodist Church and Christ United Methodist Church. Her greatest love and devotion was to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sons: James and Eric. Ressie is survived by her children: Carol Flint and husband, Bob; Lydia Larson; and Ellen Genn� and husband, Tom, all of Albuquerque; by her grandchildren: Robbie Bova and husband, Mike; Tonie Warble and husband, John; Jim Flint and wife, Monica; Rachel Richmond and husband, Travis; and Aurora, Larson, and Sierra Genn�; and by her great-grandchildren: Andrew and Tyler Wilson, Jack Warble, Cire Bova, Delila and Luke Flint, and Conor Richmond. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church, 6200 Gibson Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM with Reverend Kim Kinsey, presiding.
