Rev. Leroy Montoya, 70, of Farmington, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 26, 2011, at his home. He was born June 1, 1940, in Las Vegas, NM, to Eloy and Leocida Montoya. Leroy served in the US Coast Guard as Seaman First Class. He graduated from Latin American Bible Institute in 1964. Leroy was in ministry for over forty years. Most recently, he pastored New Hope Foursquare church for 22 years. He was a beloved pastor, well-known throughout the community. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Eloy Montoya, Jr., Jose Montoya and Jimmy Montoya and a sister, Catherine Duran. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Priscilla (Serrano) Montoya; daughters, Monica Montoya, of Modesto, CA and Missy Davis of Aztec, NM; grandchildren, Ashlee, Deseree, Alexis, Gavin and Paisley; siblings, Joe (Louie) Montoya, Ruben Montoya and Geraldine Zavala. Viewing will be on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 4-6 pm at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home. An Open Mic for personal tributes will begin at 6:00 pm following the viewing. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 10:00 am at Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene, 2600 N. Sullivan Ave in Farmington, with Pastor Dave West officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are Claude Serrano, Jim Serrano, Beto Serrano, Danny Serrano, Edwin Montoya, Rodney Martinez, Mike Padilla and Mike Terrazas.
