Reynaldo "Ray" V. Rivera

Reynaldo Villa "Ray" Rivera, As a laborer and servant for the Lord he went home to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the age of 88. Ray's work for the Lord has been completed on earth and he will meet the souls he turned to the Lord in heaven.

He was born on Phoenix, Arizona on August 10, 1930, to Joe G. and Irene Villa Rivera. 
  
Ray attended Hollywood High School and University of California. Ray worked for Los Alamos National Lab for 10 years. He also served with honor in the United States Army.  

Reynaldo was community minded and served many volunteer hours and days. He enjoyed managing the soccer and baseball team for youth sports leagues. Ray was part of the Kairos Prison Ministry and a member of Christ the King Anglican Church. His church activities consisted of home bible study groups, prison fellowships, and serving on the Cursillo teams served as rector for a curcillo, both at church and prison. Was on the board of directors at ABQ Rescue Mission now "Steel Bridge". Ray sought lost souls to help them gain salvation and loved the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Joe (Garcia) and Irene Villa Rivera; brother, Joe Rivera; sisters, Irene, and Dora Ayon; brother in-law; Rudy Ayon. 

Reynaldo is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Betty Rivera, his loving children from a previous marriage, Ray Rivera Jr., Jeffery (VaDonna) Rivera, Greg (Elaine) Rivera, Elisa (David) Love, Anthony (Denise) Rivera; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Ray had three step-children who are Betty's children; Daniel Ray Bunnell, Eugene L. (Alba) Bunnell and four children, Barbara Bunnell Fowler; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

Reynaldo will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at Christ the King Anglican Church, 529 Jefferson St. NE, Albuquerque.  A Reception will follow the service at 12:00 p.m.

Interment to follow Monday, March 25, 2019 at 2:15 p.m., Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. 

In place of flowers contributions may be given in Reynaldo's honor to Christ the King Anglican Church.
