Richard Alegria

Alegria, Richard (Pineapple) Age 85, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 in Socorro, NM. He was born in Olaa, HI on August 25, 1927 to Alexandro and Olivia (Victorino) Alegria. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Petty Officer #2. After his service to his country, he worked as an auto mechanic - a very good one. Our DAD had a huge heart for those he called cherished friends. He was loved by his family and friends and his dogs. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita (Martin) Alegria in 2010. Dick is survived by his loving children, Marleen Alegria, USMC Ret.; Richard Alegria; and Kathleen Alegria; his grandchildren, Maxwell T. Alegria; and Lance Jones; his extended family, Harold of Fremont, CA; Jesse and Ron of Ripon, CA; Gloria of Milpitas, CA; and Frank of Socorro, NM. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 1:30 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM.The family would like to give a special thanks to the Luciano Gallegos family for making our Dad's life easier to live.
