Bailie, Richard G.
Richard G. Bailie Sr. was born in Tucson, AZ on November 24, 1933 to Theron and Alice Bailie. He passed away in Albuquerque on august 19, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Richard Bailie Jr., Linda Bailie and fiance Tom Garrity, Raymond Bailie and wife Glenda, Robert Bailie, Sharon Bailie Kimmell, Lauri Bailie, Judi Bailie Way and husband Gregory Way. He also leaves behind his sister, Jeanne Hove, 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother, Charles Bailie and his sister Marcella Herrmann. Richard attended La Sierra College in California, NMSU, Grants branch and the Colorado School of Banking. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. One of the high points of that time happened while he was serving on a ship which was commissioned to transport refugees from North Vietnam to South Vietnam. Since he was a medical corpsman he help provide medical care which included helping deliver babies. After his naval services ended he was with Standard Oil Company for several years and than started his 41 year banking career. He was involved with several civic groups, including being past president of the Lions Club of Grants, NM and past president of the Chamber of Commerce of Grants, NM. He enjoyed playing many different sports especially baseball, softball, golf and bowling. Two of his hobbies were photography and bird watching. The service for Richard will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, reception immediately following service. Interment will be held with full Military Honors at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Richard's honor to the Animal Humane of New Mexico, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
