Richard "Dick" Carver

Richard “Dick” Carver, of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2025. His beloved wife, Sandra E. Carver (Chavez) and other members of his family were by his side. Dick was born on May 14th, 1945, in Carrol, Iowa. His parents were Richard and Elizabeth Carver.

Dick served his country in the U.S. Army, and was stationed at White Sands Missile Range, Stallion Site in the 1960’s. Dick started as PFC E-3 when he finished training. He was an MP Military Police Officer, and climbed the ranks to an E5 Sergeant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, outdoor barbecues, collecting antique bottles, motorcycle riding, and darts. He was also a baseball coach with kids in the Chicago area. He owned and ran a successful HVAC business in Albuquerque before his retirement. Dick enjoyed visiting with his friends and family, and he was loved by everyone who met him. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Dick is survived by his wife Sandra E. Carver (Chavez); his sisters Carol Delconte (husband Ray; children; Denise, Diane, Joei, and Beth), Maryjo Clark and husband Brian; children Patricia (Patti), Brian Jr. and Noah; and Jackie Wynn; children Tara, and Mike Jr.; brother -in-law

Frank N. Chavez, and Frank's wife Mary Rosner, and children Rand and Jodee Chavez; Dick's sister-in-law Carole and her husband Chester Rail, and their children, Jason Sandoval and Brandon Sandoval; Jason's wife Erica Soskin; brother-in-law Adolph Baca, and his children, Linda Bunning, Janice Argabright, Allen Baca, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Elizabeth Carver; grandmother Irene (Grams) Heiman; brothers Chuck, Kevin, and Michael, and sister-in-law Rowena Baca, (daughter of Frank and Odelia Chavez).

Dick was Son in Law to Frank & Odelia Chavez, initial founder and owner of the Owl Bar in San Antonio, NM, since 1940’s.

Services will be held 

Friday, February 28th, 2025 at San Miguel Catholic Church, Socorro, New Mexico

Viewing at 9:00am, followed by Rosary at 9:30.

Burial in San Antonio, NM at San Antonio Catholic Cemetery.

Celebration of life will follow services at: The Owl Bar and Cafe, San Antonio, NM.
