Crissler, Richard (Dick) William
Age 80, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Socorro, NM. He was born in Rolla, ND on September 10, 1935, to Bill and Delima (Martin) Crissler. Richard graduated from Haskell Junior College in Lawrence, KS in 1955. He was working at Oldsmobile garage when he met the love of his life, Judy Murray, in August 1956 and they were married in December 1956 in Webster, SD. He went to work for Evans Auto Supply as a machinist. He attended Kansas Technical Institute in Salina, KS and graduated in 1971 with an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Richard and Judy moved to Albuquerque, NM where he went to work for Southwest Indian Polytechnic Institute as a plant supervisor. They then moved to Wahpeton, ND where he worked at the Indian School for the B.I.A. as facilities manager and from there back to Lawrence, KS to work at the Haskell Indian School as facilities manager. He returned to Albuquerque to work for the B.I.A. and retired in 1995 and moved to Socorro. For the last chapter in his book of life he was a resident at Good Samaritan Society where he was treated with the utmost care and compassion. He is preceded in death by his parents. Richard is survived by wife, Judy Crissler; his children, Kim Royle, and Bill Crissler and his wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Ryan and Austin Crissler; cousin, John Crissler; Tony Lucero and good friend, Misty Romero. The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Society of Socorro for taking care of Richard for the last 3 years and a special thanks to Misty Romero and other friends for their support and love during this difficult time. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Chapel, 309 Garfield, Socorro.
